Topic proposal

My topic proposal is that high schools need to push their start time to later in the morning. I've done plenty of research regarding sleep and why it's so important for school. High school students are tired all day long because they have to wake up early in the morning and stay functioning until the afternoon. Most of the time, students stay up late to do homework and other obligations. When I had late starts in high school those were the days I was well rested and ready for the day ahead of me, when I woke up at 6, I wasn't. I think this topic is important because sleep is something that affects mental health and if the times don't change then a lot of students could experience mental problems. It's something that can be fixed and I think that needs to be addressed as well.
