When I first saw this commercial, I was so emotionally connected to the entire thing that I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. The music, scenery, and facials of the entire 30 second clip brought my 100 percent attention to it.

The purpose of this commercial was to do exactly that. (pause) It is to emotionally connect to the viewers and to make them remember the commercial that scared them half to death because they thought the whole family was about to crash.

Personally, I think they do a good job with the emotional aspect of the commercial. This product is so simple and quite honestly (pause) they could have gone about this completely different.

Think about the beginning of the commercial. (pause) it’s an average family who is taking a drive. The day is sunny and the child in the back seems to be enjoying every moment of it. The mom looks back at him with a smile on her face, it feels warm.

Then they zoom out a little bit and make you focus on the scene (pause) it makes you feel somewhat alone with them in that car. There’s birds and trees everywhere and theyre going down a windy road. You notice that it starts to become gloomy and dark.

Theres a breif moment when the camera goes shooting towards deer in the road and then were taken directly into the cars. You can feel the intensity as the cars come to a halting stop. The music pauses for a quick second. (pause) (speed up the words) The fear is shown in the hands of the driver gripping the steering wheel and the moms face of terror as she looks back again at her kid who still has nothing but a smile on his face as he watches out the window unaware of what is going on.

This commercial had all the aspects to keep someone emotionally attached. This is why it was very effective. It had all the details down to the scenery that could bring someones attention to it and keep their attention on it.

I know that I will never forget this commercial because it brought a lot home to me. I have had friends and family members who have gotten in a car accident before so seeing this commercial and the new features they brought would attract a lot of people. A car that beeps and says break makes you want it, anyone will do anything to prevent car accidents. This also attracts families that just want their kids to be safe. The boy in the back seat ended up not even aware of anything going on and still enjoyed the nature outside.

Introduction and Methods

Introduction   Research has been conducted time and time again about the importance of sleep on academic performance. It is said that sleep is crucial when talking about school work and performance for students. College students specifically go through a transition from high school when they are on a set sleep schedule  and veer away from it.  This transition might make college students think they can stay up later because they don’t have parents telling them what to do. This leads to the question ,  is sleep affecting the academic performance of college students? A survey was conducted to see just how many college students feel their performance is affected by sleep. The results of this can be eye opening for college students and their sleep schedules  along with their grades and GPA.    Greg  Voakes , author of the article  The Importance of Getting Sleep in College , said that college students need to be getting on average of 8.5...

First Assignment due 8/22

For this assignment I understand that we will be learning about how to write in the context of our intended fields of study. Interviewing people who have already gone through the field know what they're doing and are able to help better understand what you need to know and how you need to write according to what they do. The reason for looking at other pieces of writing and analyzing them is to better understand what they did good and bad so that you learn from their writing and create a strong piece of writing. For example, in my english class in high school we always looked at good pieces of writing and took away the best parts of the piece so that we could use that as an outline almost for our own writing. This helped so much because you're able to see strong pieces of writing but also poor pieces and learn what not to do. This assignment also gives us an understanding that there will always be some sort of writing style we will need to use and be familiar with no matter wha...
