When I first saw this commercial, I was so emotionally connected to the entire thing that I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen. The music, scenery, and facials of the entire 30 second clip brought my 100 percent attention to it. The purpose of this commercial was to do exactly that. (pause) It is to emotionally connect to the viewers and to make them remember the commercial that scared them half to death because they thought the whole family was about to crash. Personally, I think they do a good job with the emotional aspect of the commercial. This product is so simple and quite honestly (pause) they could have gone about this completely different. Think about the beginning of the commercial. (pause) it’s an average family who is taking a drive. The day is sunny and the child in the back seems to be enjoying every moment of it. I have always been attached to this commercial and I will always remember this commercial. They use things like music and time of day and family members to make this more emotionally interesting. Making something easy to connect to makes it easier for people to remember. Obviously the purpose of the commercial is to sell a car but it doesn't make it seem like that. It gives you a sense of security and gives the audience an emotional impact once they have seen it. I will talk to my audience in a softer tone because that is how the commercial is. I will use ethos by connecting this commercial with a personal story and make my speech more interesting and close to home. I might go about this in more of an emotional way.
